There is no official 'kite marking' for web sites but perhaps the best known code of practice comes from the Health On the Net Foundation. While you should always apply your judgment when browsing the web, seeing the "HONCODE" symbol (see right) suggests that the site should be more reliable than most.
Remember not to believe all you read, beware of people trying to sell you things and look at more than one site. If it looks too good to be true, it probably isn't!

| European Influenza Surveillance Service | EISS gives information about the level of influenza reporting throughout Europe. |
| NHS Health Promotion Immunisation Web Site | This NHS site provides information about recommended vaccinations. Check the FAQ section for some information about the MMR vaccine. |
| MedicDirect | Good general site for medical information. |
| Economy class syndrome | The Dept of Health has published good advice on travel-related deep venous thrombosis (DVT). This information is particularly relevant to female patients taking the pill or on HRT. |
| Macmillan Cancer Support | The Macmillan charity provides valuable care to cancer patients. Visit their web site to learn more about their services. |
| DIPEx | DIPEx is the "Database of Individual Patient Experiences". This site presently covers hypertension (high blood pressure) and prostate cancer in detail. The site features interviews with patients discussing their experiences of their problem. |
